SOFIA!!!!!!

I have a new theme song. It goes to the tune of a classic "Sound of Music" song about Julie Andrew's character "Maria".

How do you solve a problem like Sofia?

In the last week she has done the following:

Cut up a bunch of bananas into about 20 pieces
(she did this with a plastic knife, had bananas scattered all over the house. I have no idea how many Reed ate, but needless to say, he was in HEAVEN!)Opened a brand new box of cereal and dumped/scattered it all over the carpet in the basement where they play.
(from the great sale I went to last week. It was too late to put away the groceries when I got home the night before.

When a friend was over, she was the mastermind in taking 2 bottles of kids shampoo and pouring it all over the unfinished basement, and using the mop to spread it everywhere. Now my basement smells like cherry and coconut.
(same sale items that were promptly put away after this incident)

And that brings us to today. While I was on the phone with my parents, and trying to clean my room at the same time, she was watching a movie in the family room (or so I thought). I kept checking on her and she was just chill on the couch.
I went in the room about 5-10 minutes after checking on her and found this:
She got a hold of my kitchen shears (which are brand new, I can't believe she didn't cut herself), and cut up her cute new shirt, pants, and handmade beaded socks Stacia made. When that wasn't enough, she started on my couch cushions.
What was I doing you ask, while this mayhem was going on? Let's see, changing Reed's nasty diaper, taking a shower, and helping a friend upstairs.

I was able to get them patched, sewn and now they are turned backwards/upside down. Let's just hope something doesn't happen to the other side. She's wearing her lovely altered outfit all day today. If you'd like to come and see her new fashion design, come on by. You might even find her on the porch with a "FREE" sign around her neck.

For Sale

One sister for sale!

One sister for sale!

One crying and spying young sister for sale!

I’m really not kidding,

So who’ll start the bidding?

Do I hear the dollar?

A nickel?

A penny?

Oh, isn’t there, isn’t there, isn’t there any

One kid that will buy this old sister for sale,

This crying and spying young sister for sale?

Oh, I can SOOOOOOOOO relate! Terrible twos should be terrible threes -- because they are so much more capable of destruction!

I am so sorry Dawn, when we were talking earlier, I knew how frustrated you were, but I had NO idea the extend of her shredding of things. I drove by on my way home and she wasn't on the porch, did someone already claim her? I was ready to take her.

I'll give you a chocolate cupcake for her...

Let's look on the bright side-----at least she didn't cut her hair!

Oh man...I would be so frustrated. It seems like when they are naughty they are really really naughty...At least that is how it is at my house.

She's welcome to attend Amy's Boot Camp for wayward toddlers!

Kids are like horses- they need to be broken.

You should have been around Hannah when she was that age- nightmare!

Seriously- it does make for good blog posts and fun stories but if you want it to stop, you have to be dedicated and consistent. If you want help with the intervention, just let me know. It will involve giving up a little bit of your freedom though but it's only temporary...

It is so much easier to laugh when it isn't your own child doing it!

I'm laughing.

I wouldn't be if it was Hadley though :)

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry. I know that doesn't make it better but I am really so sorry. You can just come and move in with me if you would like. I would LOVE it!!!!! I hope that the packing is coming along and you are not too stressed. I wish so bad that I was there to take her for a few days for ya. I would in a heartbeat. I hope you have a wonderful time in Phoenix. I can't wait for this movie. This is one of the first movies that I have been really excited about. Best of luck with everything. Miss ya tons but love ya lots more! So sorry.

I know it's probably totally rude of me to be giggling at your misfortune right now, but come on! As bad as it sux and as painful as it is... you HAVE to see the humor in it, right? Oh, dear... that's funny! :)

wow, maybe we should ship she and Holden off to the same place. The would definitely not make a good team or a good team I guess it depends on how you look at it. Sorry about the couch. Mine's still green from the chain saw oil Holden dumped on it. Are you sure you want three more? HEe Hee

Wow! She did a number with those sheers!

It must be in the air. My daughter is currently banished from all things crafty after she colored on the computer keyboard and wrote the alphabet on my bathroom counter.

She is FIVE!
