ASU! ASU!

One of our favorite dates Jeff and I go on is to the ASU football games. We love to get out and enjoy the crowd, and some football. I'm not a huge football fan, but through Jeff and his great enthusiasm for ASU football, I can appreciate the game and it's fun to attend the games.

My favorite part of the date is eating at "The Chuckbox". Yes you sit on a wooden crate and it's not the most stylish restaurant. But it awesome football food. The line is always out the door on game days. Best hamburgers and fried mushrooms. (Jeff hesitated taking me there for the first time because I'd always make fun of the name. He was so shocked when I loved it.)

That's where we'll be tonight. Eating and cheering - ASU! ASU! ASU!

Dear Anonymous

To the person that doesn't like the fact that I don't like Utah
(see comment on post below)

#1 This is my journal. Therefore I can write whatever I choose. You can either choose to read it or not.

#2 I don't care for Utah, and anyone that knows me, knows that. I live here, because we have chosen to live here for good reasons. That doesn't mean that I have to like it, or say nice things about it. Once again, it's my journal and I can write what I choose.

#3 Imagine if you were to move away from Utah, at this moment, and go to Arizona. You would leave behind many friends, most likely family, places you are familiar with and enjoy. You would have many ties and wonderful feelings about Utah. That's how I feel about Arizona. It's more the ties that I have, the emotional ones, that draw me to the Phoenix area. Even if the summers are killer, I love it because of the people and the places I enjoy. I hope you can understand that.
I'm sure someday I'll feel the same way about Utah. It's getting better, but 14 years vs. 18 months, it's got a long way to go.

Love it

You know Utah wouldn't be half bad if the weather could stay like this all winter long (60-65 degrees). Oh, wait, that's Phoenix.

I'll have some posts scheduled to go while I'm gone (hopefully I'll get it squeezed into this crazy schedule somehow!).

And I'll be loving the continuation of this fantastic weather - even a little warmer than this. Perfect. That's why I often refer to it as "The Holy Land".

Freaking out

So yesterday I added the new "Twilight Countdown" to my blog. It wasn't until I was looking at it on the blog that it donned on me.

I'm attending the midnight showing with my sisters, sister-in-law, niece, and hopefully my mom (if she arrives in time) in Phoenix. Hmmmm . . . in Phoenix. (this is the part when I figure it out) The premiere is in 12 days (11 days now) and that 's all the time I have to get ready and get to Phoenix???!!!!!!

I'd better get moving. Whenever I have a trip, it takes me FOREVER to get everyone's clothes washed, ironed, and packed. Not to mention the million other items I have to go through to pack in the van and take to my sister Dayna (namely baby clothes Reed grew out of that I borrowed from her & baby girl clothes for her cute little one).

I feel the stress level heightening (even though it was high to begin with!)

A Visit to Paradise

We just returned last night from a trip to Phoenix. We left when it was snowing, and about 35 degrees. We arrived to 75 degree Phoenix weather - it was awesome!!! It hit in the high 90's a day or two, and I soaked up, and LOVED every degree!
The reason for the trip was to attend the baby blessing of little Kate. She is so small and just as cute as cute can be. It was fun spending time with family and friends during our trip.

We had cake with Blake, his birthday was the day of the blessing.

The one thing that brought us back was the fact that Jeff didn't come, and we missed him so much. Bella shed many a tear during the trip, she missed him so much.
While visiting the Beeson's, we fell in love with their "splash pad". While the Beeson kids hesitated to get in with their swimsuits on, because it was "too cold", Bella went in fully dressed. She was in heaven!

On the way home (an 11 1/2 hour trip because I was by myself), I believe Reed and Sofie wished they were elsewhere. They each fell asleep like this, at the same time I might add, and I managed to wiggle their blankets down so they wouldn't get sweaty!

There are benefits to traveling with two adults. One would be, in my case, that one of us would have a brain. I was shocked when I opened the back of the van to unload, and realized that on my last stop, 200 miles south, I left my stroller in the parking lot! Each stop I made, I would put Reed in the stroller, so that I didn't have to wrestle him in the bathroom. Luckily there was nothing in it, but I am now officially in the market for a single stroller. I still can't believe I did that.
All in all the kids were great in the car - and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
