So last Sunday Jeff received a phone call asking if he could meet with a member of the Stake Presidency on Wednesday night (last night). It would only be for 5 minutes, and he could come by himself.
So we wonder, hmmm, what could it be about? We were at Bella's soccer game last night, and when we got home he literally had 10 minutes to change into a suit and get to the church. (thankfully it's only a mile away.) He hurried and within 10 minutes he was home again, and not happy at all.
First of all, he didn't even meet with a member of the Stake Presidency, and secondly, they called him in to ask him to be in the stake choir! It was sneaky and not a very good way to ask people for their participation if you ask me. The fact that it was something that could have been asked over the phone, or a visit made to the house.
Now, Jeff does not sing. With much coaxing he'll sing (or more like lip sync) during church, but not regularly. On top of that, do you think that I want to battle my 3 small children by myself during Stake Conference? The two of us can barely make it through Sacrament Meeting!
So, if you're trying to get people to join your choir, please don't try this method. Not very effective in my book.
